The main groups of the Bank are Consumer Banking, Corporate Banking, International Banking and Treasury.

Job Purpose:

To effectively meet the objectives of Compliance Management and be accountable for ensuring that legislative and regulatory developments are monitored and business impact is assessed in a timely manner.

Accountabilities:

Assessments:
o Assess and evaluate the appropriateness of compliance procedures and guidelines of the bank thereby providing relevant follow – up on identified deficiencies and necessary recommendations towards amendments
Compliance Management:
o Execute Internal Compliance Review plan and obtain bank’s status on compliance adherence
o Proactively identify compliance issues, assess risks, escalate to them to Head – Compliance
o Monitor and follow –up on compliance issues of departments, ensuring adequate corrective action and suitable closure
o Assist the Head – Compliance in performing periodic assessments on existing compliance controls and make recommendations to improve current operational compliance policies and practices and identify grey areas
o Track and monitor the bank’s adherence to limits and ratios set by Central Bank of Kuwait and highlight all violations
Liaison:
o Coordinate with various departments of the bank in rectifying violations raised during Central Bank’s inspection and document rectification evidence
o Follow up with Central Bank on providing response to their inspection concerns and other customer complaints
Reports:
o Review reports and draw out all findings for the Head – Compliance
o Periodically verify accuracy of reports, sent to Central Bank, from various departments for official purposes
Corporate Governance:
o Follow all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
o Conform to risk policies and procedures to minimize the error ratios and customer frauds
o Comply to Anti – Money laundering policies and ensure they are up-to-date on all existing and new updates

Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

Education /Qualifications:
Professional Accounting/Finance/Banking qualifications
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the Banking industry, compliance management and all regulations governing the banking business e.g. CBK, CMA
Experience: 8 to 10 years of experience in the banking industry, of which at least 6 years in compliance management or Audit background

• Computer skills
• Communication skills
• Bilingual (Arabic & English)
