About Gulf Bank

The main groups of the Bank are Consumer Banking, Corporate Banking, International Banking and Treasury.

Job Purpose:

To ensure provision of accurate and timely CBK reports and preparation of other alert reports as per CBK rules and IAS 39.

Accountabilities:
  1. Provisions:

    Prepare provision for all irregular accounts as per Central Bank of Kuwait rules and update all Difficult Debt’s Monthly Settlements in the database.

  2. Reports:

    Prepare and provide expected / projected provision summary by Group / Division ensuring adherence to international accounting standards.

    Prepare reports of facilities, (Share Purchase, MTC Share Subscription, Collateralized Local Shares) Margin Trading and Provisions-Coverage Ratio.

  3. Liaison:

    Co-ordinate with Business Groups / Controllers for calculation of non–performing assets and provisions.

    Co-ordinate with IT for necessary software and program enhancements for smooth process information flow and quick turnaround time.

Generic accountabilities

  1. Team supervision:  Provide day-to-day supervision and oversight of the team’s work and handle HR issues
  2. Corporate Governance and compliance: Work fully within: risk policies and procedures and all compliance regulations
Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

 

Education / Qualifications: Bachelors in commerce / accounting / business

Knowledge: Sound knowledge of local and bank’s debt policies and procedures

Experience: 5 - 8 years in banking with 2 years in a supervisory position within debt collections

Generic & Specific Skills:

  • Bilingual in Arabic & English
  • Computer proficiency (MS office and bank applications)
  • Organization skills
  • Attention to details
