The main groups of the Bank are Consumer Banking, Corporate Banking, International Banking and Treasury.

Job Purpose: To supervise Nostro statements, ledgers and reconciliation processes in line with policies, procedure and practice.
Accountabilities:

A. Reconciliation and Follow-up 

  • Upload Nostro statements and ledgers and manual transactions 
  • Check and reconcile transactions on a daily basis.
  • Monitor follow-up activities and ensure outstanding items are resolved
  • Check and upload batch entries.
  • Carry out period balancing with the internal GL.
  • Follow-up outstanding items on a regular basis
  • Produce reports in line with requirements and deadlines. 
  • Escalate any suspicious transactions
  • Prepare and Upload FX and FD Rates. Periodic update of GI, Corporate One, Call Account Rates, forward revaluation rates, markets spot rates etc

 B. Customer Service

  • Monitor internal and external queries and resolve these

C.  Administrative

  • Supervise the printing/filing of necessary documents.
  • Take system back-ups regularly.
  • Receive SWIFT messages.
  • Monitor the archiving of old files.

Generic accountabilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision and oversight of the team’s work and handle HR issues
  • Work fully within risk policies and procedures and all compliance regulations

Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

Education / Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors in Commerce / Banking / Accountancy or equivalent degree/diploma

Knowledge: 

  • Good understanding of accounting entries
  • General knowledge of banking products.

Experience: 

  • 5 to 6 years of banking experience in accounting or operational role

Generic & Specific Skills 

  • Proficient in English
  • Understanding of accounting entries.
  • Skills in spreadsheet work
  • Reconciliation skills.
